Oakville Skating Rink in Wasaga may be coming to the end of its season, but this March cold snap has meant some extra skating days for keen skaters. We are learning, and loving, this free, local rink that provides a heated changing facility as well as being regularly maintained. We had fun today watching the figure skating at the Wasaga Beach Oakville outdoor rink, just next to the Wasaga YMCA. Sk8 Georgian Bay were doing a wonderful display and after having realized the pool was closed, we ended up watching the skaters. A milestone day for Ella - first time on the ice! Thanks to Sk8 Georgian Bay, her first experience was very positive. A team of caring, compassionate students helped the preschoolers one on one to avoid any scary or unfortunate falls which might discourage morale.
