Life tips - Cleaning Costume Jewelry

Jewelry of all kinds requires cleaning and maintenance. We have some lovely pieces of costume jewelry in store. They often succumb to dust and dirt after being kept in jewelry boxes or stuffed in drawers. A great tip is to mix a couple of drops of baby shampoo with water and then gently scrub the jewelry until clean. Simple, easy and sparkly! We always have costume jewelry in store and sometimes, some rarer and more expensive pieces make an appearance too. Here are some great tips to clean your jewelry, especially pieces that have been sitting for a while, maybe gathering a little dust.  We love this tip - dip your jewelry in a glass of fizzing Alka-Selza, apparently they will be sparkling clean after a couple of minutes in this gemstone spa bath.  Soak your gems (even diamonds) in club soda! Home Tips - Surviving the Cold

We are experiencing significantly colder than average temperatures so we've been googling some great tips to stay healthy and active during the winter months. As well as keeping active and remembering to take vitamin D supplements, heating the home is an important tool in surviving the winter. I love this tip because I enjoy how mirrors add such depth and light. A great rule of thumb is to place a mirror in every room. It's an easy way to extend and enhance a smaller space or ground and accent something bigger. The variety available is vast. From ornate to chalk paint, mirrors have been around for centuries for a reason,  We've has some fabulous mirrors in store over the last couple of years. My all time favorite is this stunning art deco/ mid century piece. I  LOVE IT.
